The Need To Create Awareness and Partnership To Eliminate Obstetric Fistula
On 23rd May, 2020 the world celebrated the International Day to end Obstetric Fistula with the thee “End Gender Inequality! End Health Inequalities! End Fistula Now”.
In her bid to create awareness about this disease, the Executive Director of Essential Relief International, Ms Evelyn Eduful released a statement on their website which suggested a strong partnership between organizations and individuals to support the government’s efforts to prevent, repair, and eliminate obstetric fistula which is a major cause of maternal mortality in the country.
Later during the day two major online news agencies namely: GhanaWeb and Ghana News Agency , shared a news article which further enhanced the severity of this condition and its effects with quotes from our Executive Director.
